.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
You opened your new office on the first day of the millennium was it just an occasion or was it on purpose?
.:: Maurice Nio:
It was both, I decided to quit my job, so I decided : let’s do it on the same day . I like this symbolic steps, opening a new office is important. I like working in a big office whit a lot of people I actually dislike this idea of having “your” office but it had to do that way.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
Before that you established with other people the “NOX” are you in a relationship whit them? Are you all working together?
.:: Maurice Nio:
Today not anymore, we had our differences regarding architecture, I like to do other things than my partners did, we moved on in other directions.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
We know you don’t just do architecture you also do graphic videos, we wanted to know if you work on each subject separately or combining all together?
.:: Maurice Nio:
It depends on the project, they are connected one to the other mentally not fiscally.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
We know you give names to all your projects like a work of art , are you looking at your projects in that way ?
.:: Maurice Nio:
I think the project does not exist if it has no name. When the project have a name and an image you can direct it to where it should be, that’s way names are very important.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
You talk about the “technical space”, how did you develop this technical space?
.:: Maurice Nio:
I relate that all projects are situated in possible spaces, than I thought there is a connection there , and we came up with the idea.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
You have put your building in a site that is not really comfortable for residence, where there some difficulties?
.:: Maurice Nio:
For me it was not difficult… We put a sound barrier.
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
You work a lot whit polyester, what are the problems with this kind of material?
.:: Maurice Nio:
The biggest problem is that it is not used to architecture , it is more adjust to industrial design . It takes a lot of time to get it done, the calculation was made by specialist .
.:: Pilia Emmanuele:
Last question, what are you think about digital technologies?
.:: Maurice Nio:
I think there should be no restrictions with the way we design, we should design with what we like, everything is ok as long as the process is followed.
